The Philomathia Foundation hosted its first annual form on Energy and the environment at the Lakeview Hotel Conference Center at Peking University in Beijing. This inaugural, two-day event brought together leading Chinese and American scientists to explore issues and technology pertaining to carbon capture and storage (CCS). This field of research explores methods to remove, transporting, and ultimately sequester CO2 from the atmosphere. CCS is expected to be a major player in energy conservation efforts. In this respect, bi-national collaborative projects and intellectual exchange are needed to ensure its advancement so future environmental challenges can be met.
