Chinese University of Hong Kong

As most of the Chung brothers were born and educated in Hong Kong, CUHK’s vice chancellor asked the Philomathia Foundation to assist with the establishment of the university’s Research Centre for Human Values.

Opened in 2009, the Centre builds on Hong Kong’s unique location as the meeting place of east and west to promote cross-cultural and intercultural discussion and research on questions involving human values, ethics and morals – not only among students and faculty at the university, but also with other institutions around the world.

The Centre also hosts a number of seminars, forums and symposia, including the Philomathia Lecture on Human Values, which debuted in 2012 with a discussion on the process of moral growth and compassion through the lens of ancient Chinese philosophy.
